1. Individual Plans are NOT GUARANTEED ISSUE. These plans are “Medically Underwritten”. These plans are issued from age 6 Month’s through age 64. 2. Accurate information on the Application is critical. Any information left out or misstated may be cause for “Rescission”. Some Carriers obtain all Physician records prior to issue of a policy, and run a check on MIB, the Medical Information Bureau, which records medical claims information. Some Carriers depend on the accuracy of the Application initially, and obtain Physician records and MIB information at the time of the FIRST CLAIM. We caution against any omission or misstatement that may result in the policy having “never been in force”, which would be a “Rescission” (no claims payment, policy never legally in force). You must DISCLOSE pertinent information. THEY WILL FIND THE INFORMATION AT CLAIM TIME. 3. Individual Health Insurance Policies are Rated based on the age of the insured(s), geographic area, claims experience of various age brackets, and other factors. 4. Rate Ups (added premium) are frequent with Individual Medical and/or Life Policies. The Carrier may be willing to offer a policy to a person with a specific medical history, but ONLY with a Rate Up. Waivers of Pre- existing conditions are also frequent. These “waivers” (meaning no coverage for the condition(s)) may be permanent. Rate Ups for medications already being prescribed are common on Health Policies, IF the insured opts to have a Prescription Card as part of the selected plan. Remember, being covered for future serious medical problems is far more important than any condition currently excluded from coverage. 5. Declines happen with Individual Plans. Certain conditions or medical history are not acceptable to any Carrier. All conditions, medications, history, past and present MUST be disclosed. If you are “Uninsurable” go BELOW to the “Uninsurable” button and click for information on a medical plan we can write for you. Few people will be DECLINED. Declines usually involve Cancer, Heart, and other serious problems. High Cholesterol & High Blood Pressure will rarely cause a decline, and are usually not waivered either. All depends on your History. 6. Disability plans are not available for certain occupations. 7. Life Insurance may be available for you, even though medical insurance has been declined. |
